The image of a Chinese factory girl holding her hands in a V Sign over the I Phone is now the center of attention on the web of late. Reportedly, a British buyer switched on his new I Phone and saw a picture of a factory girl. He posted this on an Internet forum where it spread like bushfire. The girl, it appears, is scared by all the attention and is considering quitting her job. The image is not a very incredible one but it has raised questions of forced child labour in china and according to Google news has generated over 250 news stories.

A computer virus has been discovered on a laptop currently in the International Space Station. NASA says an investigation is underway but refused to disclose further details that might have explained how the virus got into space in the first place. The virus was stopped by antivirus programs before any damage could be done.

Scrabulous an online scrabble board game has been removed by face book in all countries except for India. The application which was blocked in the United States and Canada about a month ago due to legal conflicts was asked to be removed completely by Mattel, a company which owns scrabble rights outside North America. The developers of Scrabulous on face book have since replaced it with another game known as word scraper. The new application uses circles instead of normal Squares.

Google and Verizon are reportedly in talks that may make Google the default search engine on Verizon deals. This is similar to the deal Google currently has with Sony Ericsson and Sprint networks. Revenue from ads displayed along with search results will be shared between both companies. Other companies like yahoo and MSN are not so prominent in the mobile search engine market. If the deal is successful Google will have secured a strong foothold in its campaign for dominance in the search engine market.

A new version of the popular Sony handheld game, the play station portable, will be released in October. The new PSP can be used as a telephone and is dubbed the Play Station Portable 3000. Other new additions are a built in Mike and a better screen. The PlayStation Portable will have a retail price of about $294.

The FCC, the federal body responsible for certifying electronic devices has approved the first Google phone or the first phone that will run on a Google operating system. Rumours of a Google phone have been flying about since last year, some of you may remember my first post about this,with the first real confirmation coming sometime last week when HTC announced a smart phone that will use the Google OS known as Android. The FCC website says the name of the phone will be the HTC dream and HTC plans to release it next month. I will be writing a more detailed review later.

Students of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while working on a research project have discovered various loopholes in the fare collection system of the Massachusetts Bay transit authority. The authority has, in a strong reaction, asked for a gag order to prevent MIT students from revealing the flaws. The order was extended by a Judge and the students have also been asked to submit various articles of their presentation. Of course, details and slides of the research project are already on the Internet and complete copies of the presentation were given to participants of the DEFCON conference.

A faulty Infeneon chip may be the guilty cause of I Phone connection problems. These problems include almost non available 3G connectivity, dropped calls and others to name a few. Sources say that Apple plans to fix the problem through a software upgrade rather than risk a software recall. Judging by the steadily rising number of people who have returned their I Phones in the weeks following its release, a product recall would be almost ineffective. Apple, in the meantime, has instructed I Phone owners to switch off 3G Connectivity for the moment.

Dell is introducing a new line of business laptops will range from the highly portable to advanced workstations. Dell states that it is the biggest shipper of business laptops worldwide. The new models will also include a semi rugged PC designed to survive harsh weather conditions and is priced at over $2000. The latitude family will include E4200, E4300, E6400 and E6500.

An invisibility cloak is something I have always wanted to have ever since I was a kid. Some scientists have come closer to making that dream come true. Researchers may have found a way to bend light around three dimensional objects, previously this could be accomplished only with a two dimensional object. To see an object clearly, your eyes pick up light rays that are reflected from the object. When no light rays are reflected from an object it becomes impossible to see that object. In short, it does not exist.

Mozilla is working on a next generation browser that it calls Aurora. Aurora will be a new mobile version of firefox. It's supposed to give users the ability to move data sets across pages. The entire aim is to give allow users more interaction with webpages they view.

Tablet laptops, Touch Screen desktops, the list is endless. Every day another of these beautiful and expensive novelties is pushed into the market. So far, demand for them remains sadly low. People are just not interested but that does not stop us from admiring them anyway. I remember the first touchscreen desktop I saw, not actually a desktop but more like a futuristic and tiny table: The Microsoft Surface. I have not heard much about it since then. The subject of our post today is a touchscreen PC from HP. It has a wide range of beautiful multimedia features and just like you must have figured out by now;an amazing touchscreen. It comes bundles with 4B of ram which is good enough since you only need about 512MB to run windows vista and an outrageous 500GB of space. These are good features but touchscreen PC still does not offer good value for money. Just so you know it's for entertainment HP also included a TV Tuner. I don't like tablet laptops and I don't like touchscreen PCs. The I Phone is bad enough. My guess is that the HP Touchscreen PC won't last. A pity cause they sure have spent a lot of money on advertising.

Apple has extended its I Phone deal with AT&T. This will keep the I Phone exclusive to AT&T until 2010. AT&T has been behind the I Phone's surprisingly low price. The I Phone is available to buyers for $199 but this is because AT&T pays apple about $300 for each I Phone. The new deal will ensure that AT&T gets the most out of its contract with Apple.

Have you always wondered why chain mail can fly so quickly across the web? I'll tell you how. A new study conducted by Microsoft Researchers may have proven that there is, at most, six degrees of separation between any two strangers on earth. This means that you may know somebody who you have never seen before through six people or even less. The study was conducted by analysing conversations between people who used instant messaging services. A similar research was carried out by Colombia University, this time with chain mail, though not as effective as that of Microsoft, It was impressive none the less. It's really a very small world.

Dell is tired of producing computes, just like Apple a few years back, Now the company wants to give us good music. Be on the lookout for a Dell music player which could be released late this year. We don't know what the music player will be like but we know it's gonna have the basic stuff like WiFi or even 3G. It better be good or it won't last long in a terribly competitive market.

As was reporthed yesterday by the washington post, the Department Of Homeland security has stated that it can now detain laptops for an unknown amont of time in the name of national security. This new rule also applies to hard drives I Pods and various electronic devices, even books!!!. It's a strange policy as far as I am concerned, What in America is not strange these days?

Facebook has started inviting users to try out its new user interface. I just tested it and I think it's a welcome improvement to the cluttered profile space I had before. The new interface places all the most important stuff on your former profile page such as your wall, information and application and others as Tabs on a navigation bar that is directly under your page header. This makes navigation easier and gives profile pages a more tidy appearance. It's also easier now to change your status message or add new photos. Overall I like the new design and i think I'm gonna stick with it. To try out the new design all you need to do is login to your Facebook account, You will see a message inviting you to try out 'the new Facebook' click on his link and you have your interface.
