New Research at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany may have given birth to the development of an arctificial cornea capable of restoring sight to the blind. The corneas are made of polymers that allow no water and cells to grow on them. The corneas however are still being tested and if the tests are sucessful they will be tried on humans in 2008.
