GADGETS FOR CHRISTHMAS.

Posted by Thomas Xavier Gilberto | Saturday, December 08, 2007

So you know the clothes you want and where to get them but do you know the gadgets you will need to buy for this Christmas season and the approaching year. This is where I come in. I decided to write this article in the heat of the yuletide so I could make this list as informative as possible.

1 THE I PHONE
My first choice should not come as a surprise. The I phone is an unprecedented achievement from apple that redefines the touchscreen concept. Don't let this year go by without feeling, touching and experiencing the I phone.

2 SAMSUNG HYBRID DVD PLAYER.
Samsung will release this gadget in the middle of December. A DVD player that can play discs in the blue ray format and HD DVD format, It is the second of it's kind, the first being the player released by LG earlier this year.

3 THE PANASONIC LUMIX
If you are considering going on a vacation this Christmas, make sure you don't go without a Panasonic lumix camera. This brand of cameras give you an enhanced digital experience that beforehand existed only in your wildest dreams. Any member of the brand will do but I strongly suggest the DMZ FZ50 or FZ30.

TOP SEVEN GADGETS OF "07"

Posted by Thomas Xavier Gilberto | Tuesday, December 04, 2007

This year would go down well in technology history because of the many resourceful gadgets that came out of it. For my special Christmas post I have decided to compile a list of the gadgets that stood out in the crowd and why they did so.

1. THE APPLE I PHONE
This stunning innovation from Apple tops my list for a lot of reasons that I need not mention. In my opinion I think the I phone is the only phone in the world that is truly in a class of it's own and the best gadget that came out of this year.

2. THE NINTENDO WII
Nintendo certainly took some time before coming out with a game console that was suitable for all ages but that time was well spent. The Nintendo wii lacks most of the mind blowing features that its rivals like the PlayStation 3 and xbox 360 have but it provides the best realistic gaming experience that you could get from any gaming console. A feature that Microsoft and Sony failed to incorporate in their own products.

3. THE LG DUAL FORMAT BLUE RAY PLAYER.
While other electronics manufacturers like Sony and Toshiba were busy with supporting only the HD DVD format, LG released its dual format blue ray player which has the ability to play discs in both blue ray and high definition format. The blue ray player also has the ability to play normal DVDs in the HD DVD format as well. So you can see why the LG blue ray player slides into my number 3 position with ease.

4. THE MICROSOFT SURFACE
Engineers at Microsoft are out to kill and this gadget underlines that ambition. The Microsoft Surface is a tabletop computer that requires neither keyboard nor mouse to operate it. Users use multi touch technology, similar to that used by Apple in the I Phone, to work with this baby. It can also sense digital and non digital objects when they are placed on it.

5. THE I POD TOUCH
Clearly, innovative ideas are the least of Apple's problems since the company has managed to sneak in two of it's products into this list. The I POD Touch is a major improvement by Apple from the nano I Pod. New and more amazing features have been added so that users can now have the Internet, entertainment and lots more at their beck and call. Simply put,This gadget is multi touch technology at full throttle.

6. THE ASUS GAMING NOTEBOOKS
If you are a game freak looking for a notebook that can effectively meet your needs and serve as a computer at the same time then this notebooks are for you. The G1S and the G2S are a finger licking pair and together they take the number 6 position without competition.

7. THE LOGITECH SQUEEZEBOX
Wireless Fidelity AKA WiFi is one of the technologies sweeping the globe. The squeezebox makes this list because it is the first gadget that allows people to fully maximize the uses of this technology. It is the simplest audio/internet radio streamer on the market and the most easy to use. However, It's lack of intergrated speakers and onboard controls drag it down to the number 7 position.

ONLINE WEB STORAGE

Posted by Thomas Xavier Gilberto | Thursday, November 15, 2007

In the past you had to go out and rent safe deposit boxes in places outside your office to store very important documents or in the case of electronic ones store them in insecure folders on your computer where they are susceptible to virus invasions and system breakdowns.but this is one of the things the advent of the world wide web is changing. I recently discovered a site called tilana that offers web storage where you can store important documents for as low as $19.95 per month.
This website allows you to sync folders, files and deletions on multiple PCs automatically while protecting them in a secure personal digital archive. This gives you the power of saving anything forever even after deleting them from your personal computers. You can then access this archive anywhere in the world through any web browser. Not only is this system of data storage convenient but it is also very secure.
You have the benefits of enjoying continuous data protection, through a fool proof security system.
With remote access you can access your files anywhere in the world provided you have an Internet connection.
Don't wait for too long try this site today.

The Google Phone

Posted by Thomas Xavier Gilberto | Wednesday, October 31, 2007

This year has seen many companies making their foray into new markets and diversifying their operations. Apple was the first to lead the pack with the introduction of their I Phone. Microsoft followed suit by launching the windows zune. Now a major web company we are all very familiar with is making it plain that it does not want to be left behind. You may have heard rumors about the Google phone and you may also have seen different models of what the phone could possibly look like. This post is not to confirm these rumours but to look at the Google phone in detail. Basically if there ever comes to be anything known as the Google phone, that phone will have better Internet features than any blackberry on the market because this is exactly the reason why the idea of a Google phone sprung up in the first place. Google claims that users and partners have been demanding for more Google applications on mobile phones and the Google phone was chosen as the best way to oblige Google users. Recently Sony Ericcson entered a partnership with Google to make Google search the homepage on their latest brand of mobile phones so the Google phone is simply the latest move by Google to dominate the mobile industry in the same way it has dominated the web. The Google phone is also another avenue for Google to establish itself as a major force in advertising and take on major competitors like Microsoft. Reports also indicate that Google will generate its revenue from the advertisements that will be placed on the phone. It is uncertain if the Google phone will be a success but if what we have seen from similar ideas is anything to go by then it will certainly be a flop.
